Jean is from a very wealthy family within the walls, however they aren't seen as the brightest people either, so his family doesn't get to live the highest life, however Jean seeks to change that by joining the MPs, to become lazy and fat. He acts very snobbish and even thinks his family name means something, he tends to throw people under the bus and talk crap a lot, but at the end of the day when things get serious he is often the only voice of reason.
