Sole Twin Audio's "Ring Once for Death" (Patchwork Classics)
Gina Moravec for Edith Williams
Estimated: 65 lines of dialogue. Looking for North American accent but any race/ethnicity
Edith is a very support woman to her husband who is a doctor. She's 40 and has been happily married to her husband, Mark, for the last 20 years. They have one child (either a daughter or a son depending on whose audition I like the best - it will either be David or Diana). I'm looking for a medium-type voice here - motherly...on the cusp of leaving young adulthood since she now has a child off at college.
EDITH: (astonished) Mark, it hasn't changed! It doesn't look as if a thing had been sold since we were here on our honeymoon.
EDITH: (uncomfortable) I'm not sure I feel like joking about the story. I had planned to use it as a dinner bell and to tell the story to our guests. But now—I'm not sure.
EDITH: (crying and laughing) Then Mark was right. Of course he was right. (a beat) It's just a bell, a pretty little bell, that's all. (For this line, she had just experienced something really traumatic and this line is her laughing through her tears so to speak - in relief)
