Deputy Fish is an overeager young hotshot deputy who thinks he knows just about all there is to know. He respects the Sheriff but doesn't really need him. He's very confident in his own abilities and cares more for himself than anyone else.
(Ribbing the Sheriff)
"Ahh Sheriff, even Stevie Wonder can see she’s waiting with bated breath for you to man up and make an honest woman out of her. Woman like that’s only gonna wait around so long before she moves on to greener pastures."
(In increasing alarm)
"It’s like he doesn’t even hear you! Watch out, Sheriff, he’s ain’t stopping!"
(To the Sheriff, irritated tone)
"Hey, look over there, it’s Charles. About time. (Yells to Charles) Hey Charles! (Back to Sheriff) Here he comes. (Confused/irritated) Jeez, he must be plastered already, look how he’s walking."
(Yells in very disapproving/irritated tone to Charles, who is about 30 yards away)
Howdy, Charles! Little early to be hittin' the sauce, don’t you think?"
