Phantom is one of the Maple Alliance heroes, and a world-renowned thief. 

His impoverished childhood left him with resentment against the wealthy noblemen who wasted their money on their frivolous needs instead of helping those in misfortune.

Years later, Phantom became infamous among the wealthy merchants and noblemen. He was honoured throughout Maple World by the masses for stealing only from the rich and cruel.

He would meet one of his admirers, former empress Aria of Ereve. Phantom visited her on multiple occasions, and upon Aria showing Phantom that some wealthy marquesses do use their money for something good, and Phantom fulfilling Aria’s need to talk about her empress problems, they both fell in love with each other. 

Aria informed Phantom of a conference with envoys of the Black Mage, hoping to bring a peaceful resolution to the Mage’s war of conquest. But the conference was a trap, and Aria was killed by Lotus and Orchid, two commanders of the Black Mage. Devastated by Aria's death, Phantom sought vengeance against the Black Mage and those who killed her. During the battle of the Heroes against the Black Mage, Phantom mercilessly beat Lotus, before being cursed by the Black Mage after sealing him, and fell into a deep slumber of ice.

Since awakening, he played an important part behind the scenes in conducting investigations into activities that may have a connection to the Black Mage and his Commanders. Upon being stopped by Aria’s spirit from killing Cygnus under Orchid’s control, Cygnus asks him to join the Maple alliance, reinforcing what Aria told him to stop his quest for vengeance and that he wasn’t alone in the fight against the Black Mage. Phantom agrees to join the alliance. And so he became a hero to protect the world his loved one, Aria, loved so much before she died.

Cult of Personality: Phantom always has a cool, charming charisma about him. A Ladies magnet, able to woo his way into any woman’s heart and phone number, if they don’t come on too strong that is! He enjoys being in the spotlight, and has a childlike playfulness about it. He and Luminous have a competitive, playful rivalry akin to being brothers, competing to who gets the most kills in fights and trading light-hearted blows with each other. 

However there are times where he loses his cool, like when he and Luminous discussed the moral and ethical implications of a world without a transcendent of life, Phantom being against it due to his experiences with having seen power fall into the wrong hands before.
