The World Tree, also known as Alice or Alicia, is Maple World's Transcendent of Life and is the source of life itself.
Long ago, the Black Mage tried to rob the World Tree of her powers, but she escaped and retreated to the Root Abyss to recuperate. However, Alicia was found by a commander of the Black Mage, Damien, who sent his generals to keep her trapped inside. After defeating Damien's generals, the World Tree requests to see the world, since she has been underground for so long and has not been able to see the surface. However, after realizing that something is keeping the World Tree at bay, the Alliance convinces Alicia to rest in Ereve, as they both know she will be safer there. Upon arriving, the World Tree disappears into Shinsoo's crown jewel. Later however, Damien infiltrates Ereve and slays Shinsoo, capturing Alicia in the process. In Heroes of Maple: she was predicted to be in danger, from the future vision seen by Freud: "When the battle of the end approaches, the wolf that is released from its shackles will devour the World Tree".
Cult of Personality: As Alicia’s body and soul are separate, and both have different personalities. Her body (who resides in the Root Abyss) is more polite, with an almost childlike innocence (though rather naïve). Despite this she appears to be well-informed, telling him power comes with a price with commanders Hilla selling out her country, Von Leon trading his soul and Arkarium knowing his limitations as a human. As her physical side is resting within the Root Abyss, she speaks with a quiet, almost whispery voice.

The more you absorb the power of others, the stronger you become. That much cannot be denied. But your body can only handle so much of this.
