A powerful man, Mr. Itsumo Jinsei was a calm and confident (some would even call cocky) man before the events of the series. When we meet him, he is far from that, after receiving a threatening note from the infamous serial killer still on the loose. The reason he is so fearful is because he had a colleague of his receive a similar note, thought nothing of it, and was murdered right at the beginning of the series.
