Full Name: Atlas Theodore Sandoval

Gender: Trans man

Ethnicity: African-American

Occupation: Zoology student / part-time zookeeper

Atlas is a friendly, gentle, and adventurous guy who is majoring in zoology at the Institute. He's the kind of person who is always trying to do the right thing and help others out, and it doesn't hurt than he's good-looking and has a good sense of humor. At the start of the series, he's just moved into the weird little lakeside town that is Goliath's Peak with his father Terrence. Atlas's mother passed away from cancer six months prior to their move, leaving Atlas with a good amount of grief and uncertainty for his future, but tries his best to trudge through it with a smile and support from his new friends.

Vocal details: Atlas has a light, airy feel to it that is approachable and comfortable. Though the guy is a big softie and wears his heart on his sleeve most of the time, he's no pushover; he knows what's right and wrong, and isn't afraid to stand up to people or voice his opinion.

  • [ Concerned, calling out.] "Nabi! Nabi! C'mon, where'd you go? I have your stuff! Jax and his buddies are gone!" [He hears a muffled sob, and he finds his friend all crammed into a tight space in the wall. He instantly softens.] "Thank goodness, there you are. Oh, Nab, look at you, you're soaking wet. Are you okay? Come on out of there, it's alright." [She initially refuses.] "Don't make me crawl in there with you, don't think I won't. Then we'll get stuck, the fire department will come, and then it'll be awkward." [She comes out, though tenderly and anxiously.] "There we go, come on, sit by me. Here's my coat, we don't want you catching a cold, do we?" [His concern returns as he throws an arm over her shoulders and brings her close.] "It's okay to cry, just get your breath back. Those sons of bitches won't bother you anymore, I promise."

  • [He slams his fist hard against the doorframe, making sure he has the "activist's" attention, but his voice is ominously low and quiet.] "You had no business coming here to begin with. Listen, animals are my life - I wouldn't be in this profession they weren't - but there's animal welfare and then there's /you/. Even then, there's a difference between the hippy-dippy "save the whales" crap and the shit you people do." [His voice becomes more intense.] "There's a nine-hundred pound female grizzly with significant neurological damage to her brain running loose because of you bleeding heart assholes who think that captivity automatically means mistreatment." [He pauses, but then continues through gritted teeth.] "You better hope and pray that she hasn't hurt anyone or that she isn't hurt, because then you'll have hell to pay."

  • [Crying, as he's clearly shaken by something.] "I-I just can't deal with this right now, I-I..." [Sobs.] "I don't want to be here! There's too many memories, I already have to deal with them in my dreams, I can't even stand to be alone in the dark because...[He breaks down, arms tucked into his sides as though he's hugging himself as he sits on the floor, burying his head in his knees. Nabi moves in slowly and embraces him as Alistair stands by, stunned.] "I just want to leave. I want my dad. The music, the bathroom, just... I want to go home."
