Bestiary of a Nighthunter
Michelle Goff for Elise (Apothecary turned apprentice monster hunter)
Elise is an apothecary in the land of Midora. For years she's traveled with her father trying to help the people of this grim world. But when she loses her father she decides to put down her tools and take up new ones, as an apprentice to Dedris, a monster hunter.
As for the production side of things:
I'm looking for either an English, Northern English, (slight) Scottish, or North American accent for Elise (take your pick). She is around 20-23 years old, with a lot of sarcasm and dry humour to help her cope with the amount of awful things she's seen. As an aside, a slight rasp would earn some bonus points! The character herself is a young Caucasian female. All that being said, if you have something totally different you want to try for her voice, go ahead and give it a shot!
I don't have anything specific locked down, in my mind, so feel free to get creative with your audition. Just keep in mind this character will require a rather dynamic range including sarcasm, grief, anger, and a lot of patient empathy.
With that said, here are the details relevant to the project itself. This is a visual novel/podcast that involves a mix of voice acting conversations between characters and reading/narrating stories. This could mean an episode for this character could be anywhere from 400 words to 2500 words. Preferably, anyone auditioning is available for live directed sessions, or at the very least rerecording's should I need tweaks.
IMPORTANT: This project is planned to be four seasons of about 25 episodes each. As Elise is one of two main characters, she will be in almost all of these episodes. This means I will need you to be able to commit to this project over a long period of time (approximately 2-3 years). I'm looking for someone interested in more than just voice acting that wants to get involved with the project itself. Feel free to ask for more details.
This project is starting out as a passion project that's lived in my brain for years. All production costs have come out of pocket so far. This means that while I certainly want to pay people appropriately for their time, my budget is rather limited. Off the bat I wouldn't be able to pay much past the minimum, but if things go well, that will hopefully change around the second or third season as the projects Patreon (ideally) gains traction. (and when it says $25 per project, that means per episode for now).
Thank you for taking the time to consider this project, and may a silver moon light your path.
You know, for a long time I felt guilty for every patient father and I lost over the years, as though the fact I wasn’t able to save them meant I had failed, that I wasn’t fit to be a healer. You don’t owe the people you couldn’t protect anything—not when you’ve spent so long saving as many lives as you have. You aren't a monster for being imperfect.
Whatever you are going to say, I don’t want to hear it. Complaining is one of life's small luxuries that I’d rather not be stolen, thank you very much.
Father, no! You can’t leave me. Father please . . .
Hey, I think your audition was superb for this character. If you're still interested, I'd love to discuss some details with you, and cast you for the role if everything sounds good to you. (Discord is Ryan P#1315)
Thank you. Absolutely. I am still interested
I'm really excited to hear that! I've sent you a discord friend request since that's a lot easier to communicate on.
I haven't found your request yet
Gotcha. I'll send another one your way. And if that doesn't go through feel free to throw one my way.
