Armageddon: Black Dawn [Audiodrama] Recast
VerrixVO for Grandmaster Daynard Strongthorn
Grandmaster Daynard Strongthorn is a pseudo-parent figure for Turim, the protagonist of the story. If you have the understanding of what a father's love for a son is like, then you have a leg up already. We'd like that level of emotion where appropriate--in their private moments. Daynard is also the head of a faction of dragon-riding knights though that number in the tens of thousands, and is a brilliant tactician. He can be stern and decisive as well, and does fight during the great battle near the end of the story.
As for the vocal sound, I'd like to match something very similar to what we had cast (though it was cast to a younger person, who you can clearly tell is young). So go for the same pitch as the original in the links below, but I'd also like an older quality to the delivery like the other links below.

“I knew I could count on you to find something on that island,” sympathized Grandmaster Strongthorn. “I apologize you were sent there alone. I would’ve sent a unit to investigate, but I feared their detection. The island is tiny; any more than one was a danger.”
[To Turim, who's just returned with news of an attack coming to them. This is their first moment of privacy to be less formal.]
But Grandmaster Strongthorn sank in his seat. All nobility and sternness slipped from his features and form. “I knew. Or at least, I was afraid I already knew. I tried to follow Turim, but I—I couldn’t. There were too many—”
[Turim has died, and his lieutenant has just told Daynard he's dead. Emotional, but in public in front of many of his knights still. A difficult balance between the two.]
“I’m sorry, Black Division? To the coast?” Grandmaster Strongthorn’s face twisted even more, leaning forward in his seat. “Why would you have a need to stray so far from…?” He paused. Turim watched as his mind slowly put the pieces together. “They were here? Spying closely about the keep?” He spoke as though he already knew the answer.
[Turim and Daynard are alone. Turim has told Daynard of scouts they've caught, pursuing them very far. He's calculating in this moment, but a little surprised. This is the first time this has happened.]
Excellent rendition!
