Akito's voice should be deep but not overly mature - he's 18 years old. There should be some edge to it with a tinge of darkness but not raspy. His characteristics are that he is strong willed, determined, yet fearful of his own power. He would do anything to protect those he cares about, even risking his own well being to do so.

Without spoiling too much, in the current animation I'm working on, Akito is struggling with self awareness. He has the power of fire and alongside that comes the Fire Dragon, a demon that dwells in his soul. In this particular scene, he's questioning everything that the adults in the academy have told him - to suppress and fear the demon - and he is debating whether or not to call on the dragon.
Long story short, he has some internal doubt, attempts to call the dragon and succeeds, but then his fear overwhelms him and he unleashes an explosion in his dorm room. Scene.
