Quick Tip to get rid of your Mic Static or greatly Mitigate it. take a recording of just your Mic static and use the noise reduction in audacity to get the Noise profile of that static the do your audition recording after your done select the track with the audition and use the Noise reduction function to clear away that static you can use this to get rid of fan noise and mic satic and it will improve your recording performance by al lot Best of luck From Conan

what mic did you upgrade to? the one your profile is showing is Dynamic Mic and usually when it come to Voice over the recommended is Condenser. Just curious
