Szymun is a twenty-something old who is athletic, enterprising and attentive, but he doesn't get on with Eva at all. They both have large personalities and are so sure about how to go about things, it seems only likely they wouldn't get on, but a common ground they seem to agree on is saving people the best they can, and that's an area they seem to excel in as a team.
