Smudge is a sweet, friendly tomkit who lives next door to Rusty. Though well-meaning, he is very cautious and gullible, believing all the fantastical stories from the neighborhood cats. As Rusty’s best friend, he never holds back from giving his opinion— even if Rusty is more than determined to ignore it.
(Fearful) You wouldn't get me in there. It's dangerous! I heard there are all sorts of monsters out there. Huge wildcats who eat live rabbits for breakfast and sharpen their claws on old bones!
(Suspicious) Join them? Why would they want you to join them? It sounds like they’re trying to lure you in for the kill!
(Pleading) Please don't go, Rusty.

That’s so cool that you’ve been narrating for the books for years! Those audiobooks are really special, you’re great at giving the characters emotion! I’ve been reading the Warriors stories for years and love them dearly, keep doing what you’re doing my friend!
