Ash is an old friend of the main character from before they were frozen in time. As a young boy, he looked up to the main character as a mentor figure, hoping to become a hero like them someday. After the main character was frozen, Ash took it upon himself to step up to protect the town (Falconreach) from The Rose, the up and coming para-military organization threatening everything magic-related in their world.
Ash now is a young adult, the first person the main character speaks to after returning home to Falconreach in years.
Ash is a laid back, casual young man (estimated 20s in age), who is friendly to basically anyone he talks to.
(elation at seeing an old friend again after many years)
I can hardly believe my eyes! It’s… it’s you! I am so happy to see you again. It feels as though Lore itself has missed your presence.(bantering with the main character)

So much has changed since you were frozen. It’s been a hard few years, especially after The Rose came to power. I’ve tried to become the best hero I could be, following your example.
Yeah I did enjoy it! Your range is amazing man! Love how you said it as "friend-o-meter" I do prefer your deep voice though, seems more natural for you (I'm probably wrong).
