Virtual Band still open to any musicians who want to help out
the real claw for Claw (or James Clawson)
Claw (James): NOTE, I'm voicing him since I'm singing the songs, so this isn't an open audition, it's just me letting you all know a basic idea of what he sounds like. These recordings aren't final though, I'm still tweaking exactly how I want him to sound, and these lines weren't recorded on my good microphone since I don't have access to it at the moment. Keep in mind, even though I'm playing him and writing lyrics that technically he wrote, his personality does not reflect mine. He is still a very made up character.
ANYWAYS, basically, he is probably the most obvious and biggest stoner of the group. He has a bad habbit of being under the influence at the worst times possible, such as right before recording vocals or during interviews (well, if this project is successful). That being said, I'm trying to write and voice him as anything but a stereotypical one. Despite being the front man, when he's not playing music, he's the most reserved of the members, as well as having a slight stutter (he looses it when singing, doing spoken word parts, or yelling).
Hi, I'm Claw, I'm the lead vocalist and occasionally the keyboardist.
(After Tristen explains how the different members met. Also, Claw is drunk during this.) Well actually, all of that was true except the part about me and Tristen meeting eachoher. We met in a police office when we both got busted for possession of- (Immdiately shut up by Tristen) OW! HEY!
We called ourselves Mirage because at least to me that's kind of what listening to music is. Well, unless your seeing a live performance. But when you listen to an iPod, or Cd, or record or whatever, you're not actually hearing the instruments. Your hearing speakers replicate the sounds they once made. But your brain doesn't care, to your brain, it's the instruments.
Kinda like a mirage. You're not actually seeing a puddle of water in the distance, but it looks so convincing that your brain tricks itself into believing that it really is there.

Yeah, it's for two reasons. I did this very last minute after moving from Florida to New York, and in the midst of that I left my pop filter at my family's house so I did it without one, and two, it was on a microphone that's means for capturing sound effects, not voices. I'm about to upgrade my mic, I'm just still doing some research to decide which type to roll with.
