First Officer 2: Mid 30s male. Quite experienced. Occupies the left seat when the failure occurs and tries to determine the cause. While also directing his colleague on how to recover.

  • Person 1: “Air France 447 position Intol, 0133, level 350. Salpu at 0148. Next is Oraro 0204. Request Selcal check.” (calm, professional tone)

    Person 2: “We lost all control of the plane we don’t understand anything…we’ve tried everything.” (panicked tone)
