John Laurens is a young man who is fighting in the American Revolution and is very close friends with fellow revolutionary, Alexander Hamilton. He wants to abolish slavery and lead the first battalion of black soldiers. Phillip Hamilton is Alexander Hamilton's oldest child. He shares his father's intellect and defends his father's legacy from those who try to disparage it.

  • I'm John Laurens in the place to be!
Two pints o' Sam Adams, but I'm workin' on three, uh!
Those redcoats don't want it with me
'Cause I will pop chick-a pop these cops till I'm free!

  • Raise a glass to freedom
Something they can never take away
No matter what they tell you

Raise a glass to the four of us
Tomorrow, there'll be more of us
    Telling the story of tonight

  • Meet the latest graduate of King's College
I probably shouldn't brag, but dag, I amaze and astonish
The scholars say I got the same virtuosity and brains as my Pop's
The ladies say my brain's not where the resemblance stops

I'm only nineteen, but my mind is older
Gotta be my own man, like my father, but bolder
I shoulder his legacy with pride
I used to hear him say that someday I would

    Blow us all away!

Hey, I've listened to all your auditions and I think this is the role you have the most potential for. I advise you, however, to submit a second audition with a few tips in mind to improve your chances of being selected. First, you did best when you were doing the rap verses but you need to crank up the enthusiasm up a few notches. Exaggerate it if you have to; his energy levels when rapping are usually so high that he's basically yelling (don't yell too loud though or else you'll hurt yourself). Second, your voice isn't too bad but you need to increase the volume and breathe from your stomach instead of your throat so that your voice will have more power. Don't take these tips lightly as they will make your audition all the better! Looking forward to hearing any future auditions from you!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll certainly record another audition with those tips in mind once I get a chance!
