*RECAST FOR LAURENS AND SEABURY* Hamilton (Fan Cast Recording)
theaterkidxhamiltrash for Aaron Burr (Understudy)/Male Ensemble #1
Aaron Burr is a young revolutionary fighting in the Revolutionary War. He and Alexander Hamilton, although alike in some ways, tend to butt heads over their contrasting ideals, with Hamilton not afraid to take a shot, disregarding any risks, and Burr preferring to wait for the right moment to act. If chosen, you will be a part of the ensemble, providing background vocals, unless the role of Aaron Burr becomes open, in which case you will take over the role instead.
There would have been nothin' left to do for someone less astute
He woulda been dead or destitute without a cent of restitution
Started workin', clerkin' for his late mother's landlord
Tradin' sugar cane and rum and all the things he can't afford
Scammin' for every book he can get his hands on
Plannin' for the future see him now as he stands on
The bow of a ship headed for the new land
In New York you can be a new manI am the one thing in life I can control
I am inimitable
I am an originalI'm not falling behind or running late
I'm not standing still
I am lying in waitHamilton faces an endless uphill climb
He has something to prove
He has nothing to lose
Hamilton's pace is relentless
He wastes no time
What is it like in his shoes?I...I wanna be in
The room where it happens
The room where it happens
I...I wanna be in
The room where it happens
The room where it happens
I...I wanna be in the room…
The room where it happens
I...I wanna be in the room...
Ohhhh, ohhhh
I wanna be, I wanna be
I’ve got to be, I've got to be
In that room, in that big ol’ room
You have a very unique voice! I like the way you sing, though I feel like I must ask just to be sure: are you male or female? I'm not exactly sure based on your audition so I just wanted to confirm. The reason I ask is because you have a rather light voice and I don't know if you would struggle with any of the low notes. Not to mention, if you are female, you would get stuck in the male ensemble if you end up not having to cover for Burr's role. I don't mind casting a female as Burr's understudy, especially since you're not a bad singer. It's the ensemble part I'm worried about. Reply back to me when you have a chance and let me know. Regardless, though, you did great!
I’m female, although I go by any pronouns so it is a bit confusing LOL. I was actually planning on auditioning for a female role later on when I got the chance. Most likely Peggy/Maria.
Thanks for the clarification. I'd definitely encourage you to try out for Peggy/Maria too if you can. You sang good as Burr but since your range is higher, the high notes in your audition don't have as much power behind them. I would love to hear how you do Peggy/Maria though!
