Speaks calmly most of the time, except when angry or emotional. Several years have passed since his love interest, Seishirou, betrayed him and killed his sister, Hokuto. Subaru is full of anger and sorrow over the event. He continues to work as an onmyouji (spiritual medium), but also spends his days trying to hunt Seishirou down, having sworn to kill him.
(Casting for 25 year old Subaru who shows up in the last chapter of Tokyo Babylon, then continues on into the X/1999 manga.)

(desperately, yelling) Hokuto! ... Don't do it! HOKUTO!!(calmly) You can stay here if you want, if that's what makes you happiest. But, if you don't leave this place, then nothing will begin, and nothing will end.
(calmly at first) You killed Hokuto, then disappeared from my life. I wanted to kill you, from the bottom of my heart. I tried to erase your existence from my mind. But I...just couldn't. (emotionally) If you knew about Hokuto's spell, then why? Why?!((This role requires several Japanese chants. Those auditioning will be judged on how smoothly they can make the chant sound.
