Greetings and welcome, I hope you have all gotten to a space of comfort.  I am The Master of Ceremonies, and just in case you happened to stroll on in here without any idea as to what is going on, our event here tonight is called …. The Lyrical Last One Standing. Where the best wordsmiths in the area have gathered to compete for the title of Linguistic Liaison, and who will be representing our city at the Annual National Poetry Slam in the fall.   

 The person who opened up the show is our Feature Poet for the evening and will be referred to as The Sacrificial Poet, The Sacrificial Poet will also be performing a few pieces at the end of our competitive Slam, so make sure you stick around.
