Akanthus is Jaania's right-hand man. Her most trusted assistant. Kind of ironic, because she doesn't even know where he's from.
Akanthus is very secretive. No one truly knows who's behind the mask, or where he comes from. It's implied he comes from a different continent than the main character or Jaania, but no one really knows where (yet). His true ambitions are also unknown, though it seems to be rather different from Jaania's. While on the surface he respects her authority, he's often the one stabbing her in the back behind the scenes. He uses The Rose to fuel his own agenda, which is still unknown at this point.
Akanthus is cold and calculative like Jaania, but unlike her, he seems to lack any form of empathy/remorse.
Name pronunciation: "Ah-can-th-uh-s"

Sounds more like he's bored with everything around him rather than threatening at all. The last line is supposed to be more like mocking his opponents, rather than getting angry at them.
I'm curious, which line sounds like he's bored of everything? He's a BBEG who is supposed to hide something but is supposed to remain in control. If you mean the second line where he is threatening Amadeus, isn't he not supposed to lose his cool, or give off a authotitative, carefree presence, showing he holds all the chips? While I can agree with the last portion, I must respectfully disagree with your statement.
My apologies. You describe it better than I can: The 2nd line he is supposed to be giving off an threatening, yet nonchalant presence. The 3rd line is where I meant "he sounds bored with everything". In the actual context: he's mocking resistance members who came to rescue the leader of the resistance (which he'd captured a few episodes prior). The line "You people never learn" is where I could see him taunting the resistance, straight up mock laughing in their face. (Yeah i'm a pretty bad director for not writing this upfront.. )
It's no hassle, I wanted clarity on a matter and you clarified, your abilities as a director aren't in question. I just could not improve or work on the voice work without knowing what the issue was. If you'd like, I'd be more than willing to accomodate and fix the line, (Line 3 or possibly even 2 if you believe it could use work), so that it can fit better with your vision. Of course, if you have someone else in your sights, I totally understand. I appreciate the clarification, truly, more than anything. As I said, it helps me improve.
