Near is a successor of L from the previous anime. He along with l and Mello. He takes L's place for tracking down who the real Kira is, and later down the line tracks who the real Kira is. He possesses a different child-like trait than from L. he plays with toys labeled with names of investigators and suspects. The main ones being him, L, Mello and Kira.
(Plainly, Stoic) Lets call whoever's putting the murder notebook up for auction, "A-Kira".
(Curious, lax) When the entire world knows about it, that makes it much harder to just outright use the notebook. Besides.. isn't the more pressing issue at the moment how A-Kira will handle the transaction?
