Donkey Kong Meets Phoenix Wright: Legend of the Crystal Turnabout
Motto-manD18 for Larry Butz
Larry is a very silly comic relief character, but underneath the goofiness he's a genuinely good guy and a great friend. He is very artsy, as well, and is knowledgeable about a lot of random subjects. He's excitable as well. His personality is actually rather similar to Maya's, in that he gets really passionate and enthusiastic about things when given an opportunity.
Whatever voice Larry ends up with, I want him to sound easy going and friendly. His lighthearted presence in the story kind of improves the mood for every scene he's in.
At the very beginning, Larry also has a few lines that he will voice like a stereotypically calm and professional airline pilot. His voice will sound different here than what it will for the rest of the story, mostly because Larry being the pilot is an unexpected twist and played for laughs when he and his true voice are revealed.
Some general lines. Larry is a pretty excitable guy, and I imagine you can feel his enthusiasm and pep from his voice:
"Hey, Nick!! And Miss Maya!! Pretty surprised to see me, huh!?"
"Yep! Sure have! Artistic inspiration struck me when I saw this place, I just KNEW I would have to get a look at things from way up here. I've been painting a landscape of Kongo Bongo! Wanna see?"
"No sweat! Leave it to me!"
"Oh hey, THERE'S the pirate!"
"IF ONLY ANITA COULD SEE ME NOOOOOOOOOW!!" (Note: this line is being yelled while catapulting through the air)
Larry has a few goofy monologues here and there where he showcases his confidence for his extremely bizarre skills.
"Lucky for Kongo Bongo, I have at least one weekend's worth of experience from physical therapy nurse practitioner training camp under my belt. I'll have everyone on the island all fixed up before our flight home, you can count on it. Just call me, 'Larry Butz, PhD, MD!' AKA, Physical Doctor and 'Monkey Doctor!'"
Larry has a few lines at the beginning where he has a stereotypical pilot voice. This doesn't sound like the rest of his voice, because it's a fake out and they don't realize it's Larry until they land.
"Alright, ladies and gentleman. I'm sure you can already see our destination by this point. The local time is 7:45 am, and the weather is comfortably sunny with no clouds in the sky. It's looking to be a beautiful day on this Island. We're beginning our descent now, and are going to make a water landing. Buckle up, and in a few minutes we'll be docked at Kongo Bongo Island."
