FFA Nathan for Dr. Merakis
A good-hearted, highly intelligent language professor, Dr. Merakis LOVES his work at the university. When Sol gives him some information about the cards and the chanting, Dr. Merakis jumps at the chance to do some rigorous research and learn more about the world around him. When he gets excited, he tends to start talking and it can be pretty hard to get him to stop.

DR. MERAKIS: Ah, yes! Solomon! How are you??

DR. MERAKIS: I am actually LOVING it! I can just record all of my lectures and post them online for my students to listen to and have them submit everything through online portals. This has really freed me up to do research and academic work of my own! I'm currently working on how language and culture are being affected by the current coronavirus crisis. I've set up several interviews and gone to great lengths to collect data while also adhering to social distancing protocols and...oh gosh, look at me! You don't want to hear about all of this. How rude of me!
DR. MERAKIS: Wha...oh! Yes! It is fascinating! You said that it was from a horror movie that a small studio was shooting?

DR. MERAKIS: Yes...like I said, very fascinating! I am very interested in knowing where this particular studio got its hands on the dialogue in the clip. Some of these languages are very old, yes, very old indeed.

DR. MERAKIS: Oh I did more than that! I was able to discern the languages AND was able to translate some of the actual words themselves into our very own English.
DR. MERAKIS: Of course, of course! Now...was there anything in the way of monetary compensation for this assistance?

DR. MERAKIS: Oh...well...can't be helped I suppose...good academic data is never monetarily appreciated these days what with search engines and all that...
