An Author's Reflection- Original Musical
Ber for Sam Donahue
Sam is around the age of 17 years old. They were born female but identify as non binary using they/them pronouns. They go through a lot in this musical trying to teach their dad what non binary means along with feeling like people judge them at school. They are a super talented cook and hope to open their own restaurant one day. Their dad, Ed Donahue, is accepting, but he keeps calling them by their birth name and using the wrong pronouns accidently. Ed is one of the main characters in the story who helps mentor one of his students along with, we see him, try to balance being a professor with his home life.

*crying or near crying* "The state test. In high school. There's male and female and other. What is other? Am I an alien or something"
*irritated* "Dad, how many times do I have to tell you. I'm Sam now. Not Samantha."
*excited* "I'm hoping to open up my own restaurant one day!"
