Role assigned to: Joe Stofko

VOICE TYPE:  Smooth, older voice (but not at retirement age yet) - maybe even slightly gruff. I'm really looking for a Joseph Kearns type if at all possible. Joseph Kearns as Mr. Wilson. To get a better idea of how his voice sounds, check out the original episode of "Short Order."

BACKGROUND:  Mr. Bailey is very proud of his little diner and is happy to serve his customers until The Stranger shows up and upsets his business. He's married to a woman named Virginia. Even though she doesn't make an appearance, you can tell he cares about her even despite becoming frustrated with his recent bad luck at the diner.

PERSONALITY TRAITS:  Friendly and considerate until The Stranger shows up, then he becomes overwhelmed and frustrated with his situation.

  • (frustrated) Three evenings he's been eating here, Johnson, and I wish you'd take a look at the figures. Take last night - ordinarily there'd be ten to twenty dollars worth of business just between 6 to 6:30 alone. From 6 to 10? How much? One dollar and thirty-five cents!

  • (proud) Seems to me business has been picking up ever since you started working here. Just thought you'd like to know!

  • (jovial) See that, Johnson? Better keep on your toes! Plenty of people after your job.

Man Oh Man! I love the performance, and I can see this guy in my head for sure! One friendly pointer, if I may? I hear a tad bit of 'mouth clicks' or mouth noises... that may need to be ran thru some kind of 'de-clicker' But overall... man, I love this performance!
