Maya is a spunky go-getter who is always enthusiastic in everything she does, and is a strong source of energy for the story. Her jokes and commentary keep the audience hooked.

She and Phoenix are the two deuteragonists. Compared to Nick, who is usually the "straight guy" of their comedy duo, Maya is often the "funny guy," who keeps Nick on his toes with her antics.

She is goofy and often a source of comic relief, but this is usually due to how her head can get lost in the clouds. Despite being a bit "out-there" in her unique way of seeing things, she's very sharp and brainstorms with Nick in the courtroom to help him solve the various mysteries.

  • The following are all relatively serious lines, spoken in non-comedic situations.

    "Oh boy, here we go..."

"We need to really pick this testimony apart with surgical precision. We need to be armed with as many tools as possible to solve this mystery."

"Don't get distracted by their antics, Nick."

  • The following are more lighthearted lines.

"That ape sure can play a saxophone!"

"Nick? *pause* Nick! *pause* NICK!! *pause* You went into courtroom mode again…"

"Fun fact: the ramp to board a ship is called a 'gangway!' We better start using pirate lingo, now that we're on a ship! Arrh!!"

  • The last batch are various emotional lines.

    Scared:

    "Is that a g-g-ghost!?"

    Excited:

"WOOOOOOOOO!!! DID YOU SEE ME, NICK!? DID YOU WATCH ME EUROCURVE INTO A BACKSIDE 360 DOUBLE HAND DRAG BEFORE THAT LAST POWDER SLASH!?!?!"

    Angry:

"You almost KILLED him! I'll kick your butt into next week, you crazy cockatiel!"

Bittersweet/happy (this is the last scene):
"I'm tearing up a bit here, Nick! What a wild adventure this has been!"

Thank you for your audition! I have some feedback, if you are ok with that. Maya in particular is a very dynamic, expressive character. While in the courtroom, she can be really serious and sharp, but in general she's very fun and excitable. I like how you handled the latter half of the lines--I really felt your excitement when you were delivering the snowboarding terminology, for instance. But as a whole I feel like this take on Maya is a little too passive, for lack of a better word. I'm really looking for a lot of charisma and passion in Maya's voice overall, since she's going to be a big part of carrying the show with her performance.

Of course! It's understandable (I did record this at about 3am EST so I was quite tired lol) I can redo it and send another take if needed!
