David is a bit of a unique character. At the beginning he is incredibly suspicious and is thought to be a spy from the capital, brought in to gain information about the group and the demons. He has many scenes that it's very important that the VA be able to capture the ominous energy, as it's written to lead you into thinking he is an antagonist.
It is later revealed that he was in fact a spy but he was on their side the entire time, sending false information back. From then on he becomes one of their most trusted and important allies. He is very charismatic and has spent years serving the royal family so carries himself extremely well and is very refined and proper in his speech. He does also go through some more intensive scenes where he needs to be able to display different emotions such as panic, fear, anger and desperation. Takako is also extremely attracted to him and makes him very uncomfortable in more than one situation.
