Arcus is an immortal god in the series. In the human world, he takes the form of a cat, but he is in his human form in the gods' realm. He is able to speak with the same voice he uses as a cat and as a god. Arcus can be joking and sarcastic (notice I described him as a troll in one of the audition lines), but he still cares for Anya and Zamora. When things get serious, he is able to be serious. He is worried for Anya and Zamora, though he plans to support them no matter what happens. His voice must be ideally higher in pitch (for a masculine voice) so that he's able to be joking and funny, but he is also able to be serious/angst-y as well.
