The Father is the first NPC the Player encounters. He talks to him about to hurry to the Lab, since the Player and Ace are shown around there and get a Look at the Research the Professor did. But this is all done by him, only to get these 2 away from the Village. This is because the Father of the Player is also the Boss of Team Zodiac and he didn´t want his Child and his Friend in this. He cares a lot for his Son, since he is the only Parent left, after his Wife/the Mother of the Protagonist died. Terrance always feels Guilty for the Actions of his Grunts and Admins, but also wants to reach his Goal: to revive the Mother of the Protagonist. To do this, he wants to summon Yuralia, the Destiny Pokemon. It was sealed away by Arceus like Giratina, since it rebelled against him even before Giratina did. Because of this, it was mostly Forgotten. Yuralia has the Power to change Destiny itself, therefore it can change History. But in the End, the Father is erased himself by Giratina in an attempt to stop Yuralia from destroying the Worlds. He is aware, that his and Team Zodiac´s Actions are wrong and he is regreting everything. He never wanted to harm anyone. He only wanted his Wife and his Son´s Happiness back.
