I mean, this sounds great - really I am impressed and if I didn't know any better, I'd say this is his voice by default - but it also sounds like you didn't listen to the voice example provided in the role's description as this sounds nothing close to him.

    Thanks. I did listen to the sample and you are right: I am nothing close. The reason I auditioned with a gravelly and somewhat contemptuous tone is because it fits in with everything else about him. Thanks.

      The thing is, you are absolutely right. I like this voice a shitton more than canon. However, I'd like to keep the voice similar for a few reasons. One, chiefly, being I don't want to have my inbox flamed on the various publication sites for not keeping true to the lore.

Principal Kobayakawa is the principal of Shujin Academy, the school of Ren and most of the Phantom Thieves bar Futaba and Yusuke. Right off the bat, he is painted as a genuine jerk and as one concerned only for himself and the school's reputation, even going so far as to threaten Ren with expulsion upon a single wrong-doing the second he shows up for school for the first time. He is severely unqualified for his job and only got his position due to the fact he is business partners with the main antagonist of the game, who used his connections to get Kobayakawa his position. Later in game, Kobayakawa is assassinated by his business partner when he attempts to go turncoat and reveal everything about a conspiracy that both Kobayakawa was involved in and his business partner is the head of.
