Dr. Elefun is Dr. Tenma's co-worker at the Ministry of Science. He is a very accomplished roboticist and ends up caring for Astro after Astro abandons his father. Dr. Elefun tries to be a decent member of society, but struggles with many secret shames involving catgirls, femboys, and feet. Though married, he is an incel, and it is implied that his wife has a boyfriend that he is well aware of but has no gumption to confront on his own.
After the first episode, he will become a LEAD.

ELEFUN: Astro, if you don't shut up in five seconds... Imma whoop your shiny little chassis so hard your mouth will taste like butt for five weeks.
ELEFUN: I know all about kawaii desu ne cat girls. I watch videos about them all the time. Some people say "hentai" is just "pornography" in Japanese, but if it's porn, then why are all of the hot moms in the videos telling me I'm naughty? There's crime and punishment, I tell you.
ELEFUN: I tried to get my pastor into it, but he gave me a briefing on Confession instead. How sad and closed-in is the world that sexy cat videos can't even bring us together anymore?
ELEFUN: Uran, I'm so sorry... I had a horrific "furry" phase when I built you. I broke down and sought counseling, and afterwards I restored all of your human parts. But I buckled when I got to your hair... I just HAD to give you cat ears. Please, PLEASE forgive me, Uran.
