Hmmm. I can't say I dislike this, but I think a little more emotion should be shown. The pitch is perfect though. But more emotion is needed. The listener will be listening to you throughout most of the story, after all. It should be given a little more attention than most. If you could re-audition showing me your best here, I'll more heavily consider this audition. You are the narrator. You read literally everything in this story that isn't in quotations or otherwise stated by me. You cannot be silly or otherwise not serious, for it is your job to communicate to the viewer/reader the situation occurring, the characteristics of one person, the scenery, etc etc.


I would prefer a deeper than mid but not too deep voice to do this, like when people narrated stories such as The Most Dangerous Game in ways to evoke drama and suspense. Be like that.

To summarize, you must be able to convey drama and suspense in every thing you say in this story. Even when there doesn't seem to be anything dramatic going on, your voice will keep the reader interested because sometime could very well happen at any moment. That is your job.
