Hayate is a loud, hyperactive and outgoing man with a large ego and opinion of himself. His personality means that he gets along well with extroverts, but gets along poorly with introverts. Hayate's goal is to bring excitement and energy to the anxious and weary group, sometimes failing and sometimes succeeding. Hayate Has been shown to be loud, lacking an indoor voice when talking to kenta in the library. This annoys Hitomi and Ryuto who lose their cool and tell him to be quiet. Hayate is quite gutsy when it comes to his talent, with him usually pulling off wild stunts and tricks with his plane.

          Hayate has been shown to be quite arrogant with him frequently referring to himself as "the world's best pilot" and putting himself above others. However, Ironically, he struggles with an inferiority superiority complex. He can't handle failure or rejection and frequently puts himself down when he does fail or when people don't pay attention to him, stemming from his past.
