Shelawnda was chosen at a young age to become the High Magus of Fire, thinking that she would work in the forges along side her family, she found new family among the High Magi, particularly that of Aerona. A serious woman who doesn't really beat around the bush with anything. A quick temper that's easy to trigger, though she's quite good at hiding her anger.
Voice: Low. A little androgenous would be perfect for her. A medium male voice would also do well.
(calm) I told you, it's Shelawnda. Not Shelly... Regardleses of what you heard from Aerona.
(serious) Fools, the lot of you. Are you blind? Things are not so simple, it will not end over night, and while we've been trying to keep things steady, others are less... cooperative.
(furious) You would challenge us?! Hah! AHAHAHAHA! Come then! Show me what power you THINK you possess!
I tried two slightly different voices for this one and couldn't decide which one I was happier with, so I submitted them both in one file.
On the "Come then! Show me what power you THINK you possess!", give a little more energy to that. She's completely furious at that point- imagine yourself, if you would, the High Magi of Fire, Shelawnda, a 7'3" half giant, with a few people you think of as nothing more than children challenging you after they managed to get through some who you thought stronger than them, but leagues weaker than yourself.... (Trying to explain the scene to give a better feel for the emotion without spoilers. xD.... is hard. haha) It does say in the description that she's good at hiding her anger, but I believe for that line it shouldn't be completely calm as you had it.
All that said, however. xD I really like this audition! If you'd care to re-do at least that line for me so I can hear what you do with a less calm tone for her. (Also can you do accents..? Shelly's one I'd like to have one, but I'm not really sure which accent to go with... I just know I don't want British-English.. xD)
I won't be able to submit a new audition until tomorrow, but thank you for your feedback, and I can do some accents, sort of. Also, do you have a preference for one of the two voices I tried? The lower one or the higher one?
Either pitch works! :3 So whichever you're more comfortable with. After listening again, another thing I should add, is for the first line; the second part with "Regardless of what you heard from Aerona" maybe sound a bit more like you have some serious annoyance directed toward Aerona for telling others her name is "Shelly" since in her mind, Shelawnda knows that she was refered to as "Shellywellybellygurdy~" or some form of it XD and if you can make it a bit more... rugged? I dunno if that's the term I'm looking for, but I'll go with it.. xD So yeah if it can be a bit more rugged on the whole take without losing the general tone you've given, that'd be great! If not, that's also fine, 'cause it's good regardless! XD
