Dr. Mechano (Episodic Audiobook)
EdSoliz for Narrator
The narrator of "Dr. Mechano" will read all the prose, or - essentially - everything that isn't character dialogue. By auditioning for the role of narrator, you'll be reading more than any character in the story.
The narrator is - in some ways - still a "character" of their own, though. There'll be times where the narration expresses surprise, confusion, or other emotions beyond neutrally describing the sequence of events.
Note: "Mechano" is pronounced with the same inflection as the word "mechanic." Emphasis on the second syllable; "Meh-CAN-o"
As with most love stories, this one begins with a KABOOM!
A thin bald man with an impressive waxed mustache and monocle triumphantly shouted. He was wearing a red lab coat, stylish black pants, and grey work gloves; Everything about his appearance screamed “mad scientist.”
Dr. Mechano rubbed his bald head and straightened his clothes. He wiped down his monocle and combed his mustache. Everything had to be perfect for this moment. The one that would make the day as he ushered in a new era! No more war, no more hunger, no more pain – no more free will either, but it was for the peoples' own good, of course.
No more of any of that. None at all. Dr. Mechano took a deep breath, and brought himself back into his happy place. The one filled with explosions and robots and machines and victory and he’s back!
He laughed maniacally, and pressed The Button. The big red one. The most important button in his mecha. The one… dedicated to his live stream. Already he had hundreds of views, that grew by the second when word spread of where he was.
