A fellow traveler in the windows, wise and eccentric. Not a citizen of Idyllia, but knows of it and has spent time there. Accents are preferred for this role - especially "exotic" accents that are difficult to place. I imagine this being an older person, but not required – it’s more important that they sound wise. Non-binary welcome and encouraged!
Idyllia, yes. Just that way in the swamp, where all those willows and alders now stand. Legend goes, it existed hundreds and hundreds of years ago, but for some reason, it sank into the swamp. No one knows why. But every one hundred years on a certain day, it is raised up again, God knows why.
Well, because you’d have been stuck there, of course! What seems like just the passing of a night to them would be a century gone here. I’d be one day older, yes, but everyone I know and love would be long dead. Imagine that! I’d be the oldest person who ever lived! But for what?
Let’s not say that name again, and let the dead rest, especially those who do not enjoy eternal sleep but keep on rising unexpectedly among us. But you look like the night in the woods has not sat well with you! You are white as a ghost! Hurry on now, and get yourself a bed at the hotel in Leaford. Just follow this path over that hill and you can’t miss it. (Beat.) Pinky promise.
I really enjoyed this submission! Well done. Reminds me of the G-man from Half Life. Have you played D&D in the past? This voice seems perfect for it! (Of course, it could be used for all sorts of other things.)
Hey! Thanks so much for your feedback! I have played D&D, but not very much. I didn't have a lot of access to it when i was younger, but as an adult i have played many other role playing games that are basically the children of D&D! I really love fiasco, and I played a fair amount of Mouse guard
