Hai Funai is the ultimate unlucky student. Despite his bad luck he still keeps his head up and has a hopeful tone with him wherever he goes. He has bursts of confidence when boosting morale but otherwise he's a more timid person who just wants to do good so other's can.
His voice is more quiet and clear but can still speak with a higher range when he's being inspirational. His voice could also be described as soothing and comforting while optimistic and upbeat.
(Worried) "Hey, are you ok? You took quite a fall back there and I wanted to know if you're good. Heh... You know, it could always be worse. Like when I walk around school sometimes the soles of my shoes would fall off and I'd have to walk around barefoot. Keep your chin up."
(Motivational) "Let's get one thing straight, I'm not the best at these speeches but you need to have hope. For the entirety of my life the world seems to be against me. I've broken my left arm twelve times and went through seven pairs of glasses. Through all that though I've never let that get me down so don't let one bad day let you down."
(Frustrated) "I've learned to live with my bad luck and learned to get over the small misfortunes. What I can't get over however is when I affect others. That's why, despite me enjoying other people's company, I always worry when I'm around them. I don't want them to have to suffer simply due to my presence."
