Open to any voice range.
Batieal (Bah-tea-elle) comes from a wealthy family and was given the best possible education. They became a Royal at the young age of sixteen, proving themself by challenging Casion Grace to a helion's battle. Though Batieal lost, Casion was impressed by their strength and extended the invitation of Royal status once a seat on the council opened.
They quickly became beloved by the people, earning the nickname, "The Royal of Kindness". Obsessed with keeping up their public image, Batieal has developed a wall to keep their true self hidden, often hiding their feelings behind a smile.
Batieal tends to be good humoured, but also impatient and spoiled. They are used to always having things go their way. If something doesn't benefit them, Batieal takes no real interest in it and will put their needs before anyone else's. Batieal is very personable and quite flirtatious.
(Angry)
I risked punishment because I enjoyed our time together. Sure, you were a lowli, and you were pretty inept and ignorant, but it was nice to have someone to talk to. Someone I could share my true self with. So how could you say we were never friends? Answer me!
(Remorseful)
When I finally did have an opportunity to venture outside of the Tower, it had been months. I was afraid that if I went to see you that I would discover you no longer needed me. That you could be happy without me. And that terrified me, Ren. You were the only one I had.
(Sad)
You’re still the only one who knows my true self. I’ve missed you, Ren, and I want us to be friends again.
(Hopeful)
Do you think that is a possibility?
(Determined)
I probably will regret this, yes. You’re a lot stronger than I expected, but I’m not leaving here until Ren comes back, and if that means I need to fight you to free him, I will.
Great job, Tony! I love the pauses you included in the sad lines. It definitely helped convey the hurt Batieal is feeling in that moment.
Thanks Jenna ! I did work a lot to contain my french accent. I'm glad you enjoyed my version :)
You did a wonderful job! This project is open to any accent, as well! So if there are any other characters you were think of auditioning for, feel free to use your natural accent :)
