"Tomitake Jirō" appears to be an alias for his cover as a photographer. Investigation Memo TIP affirms that "Tomitake Jirō" is only his pen-name. Under this cover, Tomitake visits Hinamizawa every year to photograph birds, he is well known by the villagers, and seems to know quite a bit about the village and its history, thanks to Miyo’s deep interest in the subject. Jiro is voiced by Toru Okawa in the sub and Kyle Hebert in the dub.
