A favorite both in canon and the abridged series. Kanji is a first year student who has a rough exterior, but on the inside he's a real softie. When the group first met Kanji, he stuck close to them and acted like he belonged in the friend group. They later found out that Kanji is just a lonely kid who imposed himself on to others to try to make friends. He's moved when Yu calls him a "pal", and started referring to him as "Boss" from that point on. Kanji is very protective of his friends, as he doesn't want to lose what he worked so hard to gain, but when they talk casually he appears to still be slightly immature. Kanji's Shadow represented his desire for acceptance, and maybe hinted at the fact that Kanji could be pansexual. This wasn't heavily explored, as at that point Kanji really just wanted true friends, but may come back up somewhere down the line.

Kanji's voice can fluctuate from low range to higher range depending on the situation. If he's trying to be serious or threatening, it'll be lower and more aggressive, but if he's hanging with the gang or making jokes, it'll be a mid-high range with a more innocent tone.

  • (Chie and Yosuke ran away screaming "there's a psycho chasing us", so he's terrified, not realizing they were talking about him)

AHHH! HOLY SHIT GUYS, WAIT FOR MEEEE!

  • (Explaining his reason)

The man was offering free candy. Who am I to say no to that?

  • (Protective/aggresive at first, followed by relief)

Excuse me!? We got a problem here!? HM!? ...phew...that was scary...

Hi there! planning to redo this and just wondering what feedback you have from this one. Thank you so much!

My feedback: I think you've got the right idea for his voice so what I would focus on would be your audio quality. Try playing with the gain on your mic or recording software to adjust the volume to where you're not peaking. If it's left as it is here, the audio gets ruined. I noticed some reverb as well so I might suggest using a blanket behind you to diminish some of that.

Got it. Learned how to use audacity in the last week so that definitely is good to know
