I apologise beforehand on the extremity of how long this character description is; you really have to understand Kyah and her backstory upfront or else she won't make much sense. (Plus too, she's one of my favorite characters and I want someone to know right off the bat what her background story is. Her Spirit Ability was the most rare and powerful one there could ever be: the abilty to literaly control the Spirit Energy around her. Because of this, since the chances of getting such an ability are little to none, if one was to ever acquire it, there's chances of it being broken, and killing you. Kyah's good-hearted nature caused her to only draw in negative energy, and that lead to her unfortunate death. **HOWEVER - WE DO NOT STOP FOLLOWING HER THERE**

Spark actually had an older sister at one point, named Kyah. Spark was too young to remember this, but Kyah became ill from her broken Soul spirit ability taking in nothing but the negative soul energy in the world, and much of it. She was only 7 when she had reached the end of her lifespan, and tragically died in the hospital when the energy withered her away. Spark was only about 2 when this occurred, and at that point, he had barely learned to speak. He did not Remember her. Kyah's rare Spirit Ability, controlling the base Soul Energy in and around her, was broken. Since the ability was so rare and so powerful, it was very difficult to control. Kyah's kind-hearted nature led her to wish the best for others, even if that meant carrying their burdens alone. Unknown to her however, this charismatic kindness triggered her Spirit Ability to constantly draw all of the negative energy from everyone she came in close contact with. With no training on how to handle her ability, or expel excess energy, that negative soul energy started bearing down on her like a 10-ton weight on her shoulders. The energy did not affect her emotionally or psychologically in any way, but she was constantly in her negative Ascended Form from all the overflowing energy, and it weakened and withered her from the inside out. 

    Because of her Spirit ability being unstable, only one eye would glow red when negative energy was released, instead of both of them. Her other eye was its natural color, a soft, beautiful magenta. Before Kyah dies, she finds the means to re-create the signature for her ability, and chooses to send it to her infant brother, Spark. When Kyah hits her limit and finally, unfortunately passes, all of the negative energy she's held in over the last 6 years for the sake of everyone suddenly erupts from her like an atom bomb, and triggered what people know as the "Darkness Period". For two years, everyone on Kaiyon saw a decline in happiness and sanity. People fought more often, there was more sadness than joy, and people were more highly stressed, and many became ill. In the afterlife when Kyah enters the void, she witnesses the effect of her passing, and, unbeknownst to Taio, Rose, or anyone, she spends her time training her broken ability, and ends up mastering it. She learns the secrets of Ascended Forms, energy channeling, and even discovers (before Ryko) that people can be given artificial Spirit Abilities, given that they can control their Spirit Energy. All that is needed is something with a Spirit Ability's energy for someone to channel their Spirit Energy to. Since Soul Energy is the basic life energy among all Kaiyonians, it can be easily manipulated into an elemental energy. When Taio and Rose enter the void after having sacrificed themselves so Amgine would not know to track down Spark, they are amazed to find young Kyah, eyes now both magenta, and her ability has been completely mastered. She tells the two of her training over the many years (however, since she died at 7, her appearance has remained to be that of a 7 year old, but she still is very wise, philosophical and caring), And explains that she gave her ability to Spark (while keeping it dormant), in hopes that one day, it may be passed down, and another child may gain a stable version of her ability. When Spark arrives, he is dumbfounded at the existence of an older sister he never knew of, but because of her current age, her and Spark agree to flip the perspective around, and Kyah calls Spark her older brother. During Spark's time in the void, Kyah and Spark bond heavily, and Kyah helps Spark learn about the different ways he can use his energy, which leads to Spark realizing his Ascended Form, along with Taio and Rose shortly thereafter realizing their own Ascended forms. Aside from training, Spark and the others of the family make use of being able to conjure and manipulate the void by creating scenes and landscapes in which they can play, and relax.
