A bartender, also referred to as a pubtender or mixocologist, was an individual who served drinks, generally at a cantina or tapcafe. In a galaxy full of thousands of species and countless types of drinks, it took intense training to tend a bar safely, as even common drinks could have adverse effects on certain species.

Throughout the galaxy, bartenders were often looked to for advice by their patrons. Among the Bith, bartenders were often looked to for advice on spiritual matters, making bartenders more important than in most societies.
