To put it simply: he is the abusive father. We imagine a voice that's loud, deep, and gruff for his character who is able to slip into a little bit of crazy. Convincing shouts are crucial for his character.

  • (At a funeral for his son) [sad and solemn, not outwardly crying]

    “Why couldn’t it been one of the girls...”

  • (The family tries to eat and move forward, but he is not having it) [angry shouting]

    “Are we really going to eat? On a day like this?! Show some damn respect, Agathe!”

  • (After catching his daughter as she tried to run) [still aggressive and composed, but clearly crazy and dillusional]

    “I knew it. You are not my daughter. You are an Erkling – a Changeling. You had us all fooled, didn’t you?”
