About:

Nicknamed “the Quater’s Colorful Songbird” for her colorful hairstyle, vibrant chalk murals, and lofty bird-like mindset, Robin is a woman with untarnished optimism. Following the heartbreaking death of her parents as a child, Robin became a street urchin who refuses to let the past determine her future. Keeping her eyes looking up towards Orlinia’s high life, Robin holds on to the dream of stepping out of the shadows and into the sun while being a positive influence for only seeing people for the people they are inside and never the outside.

  • (The following scene is shared between our two main characters as Robin leads Antony on a mission to steal a meal from one of the city's corrupt businesses, meant to demonstrate Robin’s optimism and pure hearted nature.)

    Antony:

“Why did you leave me with your bag earlier?”

    Narrator:

    asked Antony.

    Robin:

“Cause, you were just sitting there,”

    Narrator:

    the woman replied.

    Antony:

“No, I mean, why? You weren’t even worried I would run off with it? I could have easily taken it and sold your stuff to someone.”

    Narrator:

The woman glanced over to her right at Antony.

    Robin:

“You seemed trustworthy. Why? Was I wrong?”

    Narrator:

Antony began stumbling over his own words.

    Antony:

“Yes. I mean, no. I mean, I am trustworthy. I try to be. Or at least I hope I am. I don’t know. You’re confusing me.”

    Narrator:

    The woman snickered.

    Robin:

     “I think you’re confusing yourself.”

    Narrator:

The woman climbed out through a large open hole in the back of the building and waited for Antony to follow.

    Robin:

“You didn’t run off with my bag, so obviously I put my trust in safe hands. Besides, you seemed like a sweet guy just trying to make it, so I had faith in you.”

    Narrator:

Antony climbed down through the rubble, using one hand to brace himself against the crumbling stone wall, and the other to hold his clarinet.

    Antony:

“That’s not the point. You weren’t even worried at least a little?”

    Robin:

“Nope. Not really. That’s one of the best parts about having nothing. If you already have nothing, you can’t lose anything. Even if you did run away with my bag, I’d just find another. You may have even given me the chance to find an even better bag.”

  • (The following scene is between Robin and our main antagonist, Duke Sprit. In this scene, Robin has finally found her way back to Antony after a long and difficult journey, only for him to reject and cast her out, only for her to share her woes and heartbreak with a stranger and unknowingly put her own life at risk.  This scene is meant to be a demonstration of your ability to capture Robin’s genuine heartbreak with believability.)

    Antony:

    (shouting)

    Get her out of here!

    Narrator:

    He shouted violently.

    Robin:

    (still scared)

    Aaa…Antony.

    Narrator:

    Said the woman again.

    Antony:

    (screaming)

    OUT!

    Narrator:

Antony hollered again, his face still turned to the window. Robin’s heart shattered to grains of sand. She dropped the papers in her hands on the floor. Noal turned and extended a hand out ushering her out of the room.

    Noal:

    (gently)

    Come on.

    Narrator:

Noal whispered to her. Robin slowly turned around with a horrified stare. She shuffled her way towards the office door, trying her best not to break down and start sobbing openly.

Noal held the door open for her. She looked back to see Antony still gazing out the window with a hateful look on his face. Robin stepped out of the office. She turned back to see Noal offer her a sympathetic stare.

    Noal:

    I’m sorry.

    Narrator:

He said to her before closing the door.  Robin turned around and slowly began walking back towards the double doors. She passed through them in a trance of pained agony and walked back towards the elevators. The man in the dark gray suit from earlier stood at the elevator doors, still talking to someone on the phone.

    Duke:

We’ll find a way to break him. Just bring the car around to the front.

    Narrator:

The man said into the phone before hanging up. The man waited at the elevators as Robin stopped and stood next to him. He glanced over at her, undoubtedly seeing the vacant and broken expression on her face. The elevator doors opened. Robin stepped in with the him. She waited till the doors closed before the dam holding back the tears of her bleeding heart began to give way.  She slowly began to sob.

    SFX:

    (Elevator doors opening, closing.)

    Robin:

    (Softy sobbing)

    Duke:

    Are you alright, ma’am?

    Narrator:

Asked the man. Robin wiped her eyes with her dress. Duke stood by, disgusted as the woman next to him began openly weeping. He rolled his eyes and wrapped his arm around her, trying to console her.

    Duke:

    What’s wrong?

    Narrator:

    Robin lifted her head up.

    Robin:

    (crying, heartbroken)

    He...doesn’t…care anymore.

    Narrator:

The man raised an eyebrow in suspicion.

    Duke:

    (suspicious)

    Who?

    Robin:

    Antony…

    Narrator:

Robin replied, trying to compose herself.

    Duke:

I’m sure that’s not true. Come now. Tell me the whole story.

    Narrator:

Robin began to ramble to the stranger offering her a small amount of compassion, unable to keep it all to herself anymore.

    Robin:

    (sniffling)

We met down in the Quarter, a few weeks ago, but…we got separated. So…I came up here trying to get a chance to see him, but…

    Narrator:

    Robin began to sob again.

    Robin:

    (sobbing)

    He doesn’t care anymore...
