About:

Self-made CEO and Founder of Skyliner Industries, Antony Caracalla is charismatic and confident is all things. A pioneer of commercial space exploration and commercial science, Antony has been proclaimed “Orlinia’s Silver Prince” by international tabloids for his wealth and power. While wearing an ongoing mask of success however, Antony’s true self is riddled with loneliness and heartache. Even with the deepest pockets in the city, Antony cannot escape his prison of power as visitors come and go seeking favors, while the only one who holds the keys to his freedom is someone seeking to be with him for himself and not his money or fame.

  • 1. (In the following scene, Antony and Robin are returning from the day's events in the city slums, as Antony opens up to Robin about his own heartache and loneliness. Antony speaks from the heart for the first time.)

    Antony:

“For a time, I used to have a dream. Not anymore, though.”

    Robin:

“But what was it like? You know, living up there? Having your dream start to become a reality.”

    Narrator:

Robin pointed up towards the upper city skyline.

Antony glanced up at the towering city above. He thought back on every moment he had ever spent, surrounded by celebrities, wealthy business partners, and politicians, only to come to the same conclusion as always.

    Antony:

     “It was lonely...,”

    Narrator:

    he said, then walked on.

Robin chased after him. The two of them squeezed their way through the crowded streets, parting sides from one another. Robin worked her way back towards Antony, maintaining the same fixed expression of confusion.

Robin stepped closer to his side.

    Robin:

“Lonely? In a world like that, how could you be lonely?”

    Antony:

“The more money I obtained, the lonelier I got. People came at me from all sides, acting friendly or kind. Always pretending they wanted to be my friend for the sake of being friends. But they’d never admit my friendship wasn’t what they really wanted. I started to realize that after a while. I couldn’t speak my mind or open up to anyone without rumors, because all they wanted from me was my money or influence. I had hundreds of friends, but not one of them really cared about me for me. The only person I was able to trust was my oldest friend who knew me before I gained my wealth.”

  • 2. (The following scene is between Antony and his friend/VP Noal as he arrives for a business meeting late and recklessly, expressing his smug, confident, and careless mentality at the beginning of the story.)

    Noal:

“What’s the point in paying two million a month for the city’s best personal security if all it takes to kill you is a high-speed collision of your own doing? If it’s that easy, I should have the honor.”

    Narrator:

Antony turned off his motorcycle and placed the helmet on the seat.

    Antony:

“Because, my VP wanted me to have them. He’s overprotective and paranoid. So much so, I might just start calling him Mom,”

    Narrator:

    Antony replied.

Noal pointed at him with one finger.

    Noal:

“You know that’s not funny, Antony. If something happens to you, a lot of people lose their jobs.”

    Antony:

    “You mean besides you?”

    Narrator:

Antony replied, handing his helmet to him as he stepped away from his motorcycle.

    Noal:

    “Especially me,”

    Narrator:

Noal replied, passing the helmet back to him. He was in no mood for any of Antony’s usual games or playful jokes.

Antony snickered and handed his helmet to Derek.

    Antony:

    “Thanks, Dustin.”

    Noal:

“His name’s Derek. Not like he’s been driving you for two years now,”

    Narrator:

    Noal replied, shaking his head.

    Antony:

“That’s what I said, didn’t I? Derek, David, Dean. A name’s just a name. Who really cares about names anyway when mine’s the most important in the room?”
