Casting Call for Avatar Abridged: Chapter 7
Anthony Ray Morales for Shyu the Fire Sage
For Shyu, we're going for a "down on his luck" feeling to this character, he's been stuck on this island for a long time and while he's accepted his lot in life, it still sucks. The intention is that this character sounds older than our normal cast, but I wouldn't say he sounds exactly whispy.
While we're preferring the character's accent be american, I'm open to working out the interpretation of this character based on the actor we choose. You're free to do any accent you'd like, though we would like you still include a standard american accent in line with the accents of our cast so we have our bases covered. As of this writing, Shyu has thirteen lines, but that can be expanded in the recording process.
[Aang is currently holding a staff to you and you are unnerved by this display while Sokka is yelling "Stranger Danger"].
(Reacting to being threatened) "I’M NOT ONE OF THEM! I’M JUST THE CLEANING GUY!"
[You just brought Team Avatar up several flights of stairs only to realize you can't open the door.]
(Not really bothered, this is just one of those days) "Well shit, the door’s sealed and I forgot my keys… the only other way through this stupid kung fu panda lock is with firebending, and I’m kinda terrible. Times like this, I really don’t understand what corporate’s thinking."
[You're reacting fearfully to Avatar Roku destroying the temple, it's alot.]
(Fearful but comedic) "Aww man, Avatar Roku's looking really pissed."
