Steve is a very laid back character with a form of elegancy. Steve will most likely be used as the driver for any type of transit for the characters of the story. He's also a mushroom man, which is pretty cool.

I also love the idea that no matter where the characters go. They inevitably end up running into Steve in their different forms of transportation somehow. Character going away on a flight? What a coincidence! Did we mention he’s a pilot?
