The narrator has a touch of tongue in cheek and an irreverent sense of humor.  I don't think she particularly cares about what happens to these boys but she's there to do her job and have fun doing it. 

  • Narrator: [cheerfully] Previously!  Suspended detective inspector Gino Rosetti was attacked by a weirdo in his own home and stabbed.  However!  His churlish friend, private investigator Dalton, saved the day thanks to the invention of the gun.  Now they are in a hospital and it is the following morning...

  • Narrator: May 5th, 1943.  San Francisco Police Department.  Chief Inspector Anna Song's office.

  • Narrator: Approximately thirty one minutes later...
