Your microphone isn't the worst, there's always room for an upgrade but I wouldn't worry about it too much if you're just starting out :). In regards to your audition, I liked it, I can imagine your voice as Ben but when you're reading the line I feel as though you're reading the line if that makes sense. If I could offer any tip going forward it's to read through the lines multiple times to yourself until you feel as though you can say it without reading the words in a convincing way.
